Just got back from ANOTHER business trip.

Anyways, the December 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords was waiting.

There's an article about tuning supercharged 5.0's in there. Great tips from Alternative Auto.

Lidio pulls the SPOUT and sets timing to 29 degrees BTDC. He doesn't put the SPOUT back in so the 'pooter can't control the timing. He then uses/recommends an MSD 6BTM (Or crane Hi-6 TRC) and sets it for 1.3 degree per pound of boost.

Killer information, thought I would pass along.

"Like Clockwork - Turning our Novi-Boosted '95 5.0 to run like the proverbial Swiss watch." Is the name of the article.

"We now have a Viper Killer with all the manners of a Stock GT."

Usually it's believe 1/2 of what you read, and all of what you know. The Alternative Auto guys know their $H!T, so I would imagine it's good advice.

It was installed on a car that will be "strictly a street car."

Pick up the mag or talk to Alternative.

Why would you set timing at 2500 RPM? :D

You got it. Obviously optimum tune will vary from car to car and combo to combo. It's a good tip, I've never seen it done that way.

The magazine writer was surprised as well.

Only if you have no chip tuning capability woulds I recommend this. We see cars in the shop a lot with this done and have plenty of driveability issues. Adaptive spark is there for a reason.
