I am getting ready to install my front Bilstein shocks and I notice that the part number on the front shocks on the box I received was F4-BE3 A274 T0. The inventory build sheet said that I should have the F4-BE3 A273 T0 for the front shocks. I called FFR and question if I had the wrong front shocks and they said, “Oh that is the old Part number and build inventory sheet and the front and rear shocks are the same part numbers F4-BE3 A274 T0”. I would like to have a second opinion on this before I install the front shocks and has anybody notice this on their build inventory sheet?

BTW, I have the MKIII, 3-Link system with 8.8 solid rear axle.

Also, on the Bilstein front shocks which way does the threaded body go (up or down)? I know this has been asked quite a bit but I am not convinced which way they should go. Thanks for the help you guys have given me so far in my build.

Jack:

273's are fronts.

274's are rears.

Except IRS, which uses front shocks as well.

The difference is the length of the body.

Call me or email me if you need to.

Steve;
I am curious as to the "official" answer to Geoff's question on the shocks correct up or down question. I have seen posts with them both ways.
