We'd be glad to help out. (Btw, my daughter is only 2 years old, so you must be thinking of someone else's daughter, Bill. Chuck Habel's maybe?)
Bill and carbon bring up good points. I like a clean emblem with less clutter AND the more complex images do get costly to have digitized and then to produce.
If you want an embroidered emblem to fit on a hat or left/right chest, it needs to fit within 3.5" x 3.5". When you get this small, smaller objects will get lost. For example in Sergio's emblem, the Coupe and the Cobra may blend a little too much, and the Spec Racer is too small when you take the image down to the correct size. Here is the emblem at 3.5" wide:
keep in mind the above is a picture. When you produce the image with thread, it will "blur" a bit. If you want to use a car image, I would suggest sticking with a single car or even a portion of a car, like Bill's NSX emblem for example.
To give you guys an idea of what I mean, here are a few samples of emblems we have done:
Each of these images are approximately 12,000 stitches each and contain 10 colors each. The detail is good, because it is a single image that can use the entire 3.5" x 3.5" area:
Here is an 18,000 stitch emblem

. It looks great, but because of the complexity of the emblem, the cars are smaller and contain less detail:
Why not have a contest to create the emblem and have members vote on which they like best? We'd be willing to invest in converting the chosen emblem to embroidery and then making the garments available on our site if there is enough interest out there.
