I need to pull a pilot bearing out of a 302 in order to mate it to an automatic transmission.
What is the best way to go about attempting to knock the pilot bearing out??
So far i havent had any luck trying to wedge it out with a flat head and a hammer.
Thanks!

Fill the hole with grease, insert a close fitting punch or similar rod (old input shaft works well) and hit it with a hammer.

Hydraulic force on grease will drive bearing out.

Works like a charm.

That's what I used the last time I did one. Actually, it was one of those clutch disc alignment things. Packed the bearing with grease, and hit the alignment tool a couple of times with a BFH. The bearing popped right out.
