I've been waiting for my Chrome roll bar for a about a month it was sent to the chromer 10/11/02 per FFR, I was told by someone (John?)at FFR who they transfer you to when inquiring about back ordered stuff that once they send it out "it's between the chromer and UPS" it's out of their hands..has anyone else gotten a response like this or had to wait this long..Don Maggiore

yeah, well I used to live in Connecticut until about 5 years ago and it would have been nice to make a trip to pick it up, but I'd probably be freezing my butt off!!!!And believe it or not they really do still use the Pony Express,,,well once a year any way from Hashnife to Scottsdale..

I only had to wait a little under a year. Call back and ask again. At least find out what the current turnaround time is!

It took 2 1/2 months to get the roll bar...seems that FFR sends it to the Chromer....Chromer sends it to you....don't hold your breath...but it DOES eventually get to you.

Well, if it is actually holding up your build, there is one for sale either here under parts, or on the other forum under parts, $150. So if you are desparate, cancel your order and by it.

Rollbar?? Took delivery of kit 9/28. Was surprised to find an un chromed unit in my pile of boxes. Spoke to Joe who immediately issued an RMA and assured me that my chrome unit was in process. Yesterday received a huge box from Jethot containing my sidepipes (pitted going back). Spoke to Joe again, RMA issued. No impact to my build yet except private time with cool chrome stuff while alone. Sit tight, they will arrive.

Got my chrome roll bar about 1.5 months after receiving my kit, and I got my ceramic coated sidepipes about the same time. The roll bar was done by a place called Advanced Plating, in Tennessee (I think), and I can't remember who did the sidepipes, but it wasn't Jet Hot (I think it was a company up northeast somewhere.) Anyway, it really is in the hands of the platers once it leaves FFR, you could try getting their number and harassing them, but you probably won't have to wait too much longer.

.......ditto about the roll bars. Had 'UPS' marked beside my chrome roll bar order for both the driver and passenger side. I suspect that they are back-ordered or somewhere in transit.

Cancel the chrome bar. Have them ship out a standard bar and refund the difference. Have it chromed yourself. Whoever "John" is and why he chooses to pass the buck to the chromer is beyond me. If you want a straight answer, call Joe F.

I agree on getting it chromed locally. You also have the opportunity to grind out the excess weld material and get a smooth joint before plating. Mine came out awesome and cost less than the FFR chroming.

I have always ASSUMED these roll bars are not really interchangeable.

Imagine Bending a 180 and haveing the ends come out exactly the same two times in a row.

ive always assumed the roll bar assembly was welded in place and the roll bar was removed and sent out to be plated.

OTHERWISE, why wouldnt they just have a bunch of pre chromed roll bars there and ship them out.

My point is, if you get another roll bar, it might be a true pain in the A$$ to get on your car.

I could be wrong.

I took mine to the plater that FFR uses (pretty sure) and it took 2 months to get it back from them. It's not FFR's fault on this one!

They sent me an extra chrome rollbar, it was probably yours. I already sent it back. It is between the plater and UPS. They send chrome stuff to the plater with your shipping address. It goes straight from the plater to your house.

My roll bar came in about eight weeks. I think Mark Weber told me each roll bar is unique to the car so each is fit indidually. Thats why there is always a delay. The kit goes to you and your bar goes to the plater. I believe they ship them in some sig. group so depending where you get in on the shipment determines if you wait two weeks or 12. Took me 15 months to complete car so it did not impact my build.
Have fun and relax!

Don-
mine took 6 weeks and they did a beautiful job. If you want to call the plater their # is1-800-588-6686, Advanced Plating.
