FFCars has set up a wholesale tire/wheel account with Discount Tire Direct. This is a permanant discount. Call Todd Holzwarth, x412 or Bob Gardner, x411 (800) 938-3456. You must tell them you are a FFCars Member.

I have used these guys for over 3-years for the NSX club, they offer great prices. But you MUST ask for these guys to get the discounts. Here's there website: www.discounttiredirect.com

They have been added to the Vendor page.

Yes, but in most cases you won't have to ask... the prices they will quote you are always better than the Internet prices. The only time they may not be able to match is when a company is trying to unload or discontinue a tire.

The Discount website doesn't even scratch the surface as to the tires that they offer. I got my Nitto 555RIIs at a local Discount retailer. They aren't even listed on the website. Call Bill, or Bill's contact for your specific needs.

This is a very timely post, as I will need tires soon.

What are the best tires (17") everyone is using for the street, with an occassional trip to the track?

I like Yokohama A520's, but Galt's had great luck with Simito (sp.?) on the street, Kumho's for the track.

I think the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s are a good bargain as far as price is concerned. Performance wise, I can't verify for another month or so, but I hear they work well for a street/performance tire.

Last spring, I bought a set of Falken Azenis for my Miata Autocrosser from Discount Tire. They are, in my opinion, one of the best hi perf tires on the market. I've been so impressed by them that I bought another set for my, work-in-progress, Snake car. And, on top of all of this, they are inexpensive!
