I drained my donor AOD of fluid before removal and after fitting in the cobra I tried to fill it with the same amount of fluid. It would not take half? Does the engine need to be running to allow the pump to take in all the neccesary fluid or what? I've still got the car on stands and the fluid is coming out slowly from various places. Gravity, I'm assuming! I've turned the engine over with the starter a few times but this would probably not work the tranny pump.
Anyone with advise please reply!
Thanks,
Rick

Rick,
I asked the guy who does transmission work. This what he emailed me.
Well the tranny pan on that one probably only holds 5 qts. He might have drained the convertor as well if so and he has the fluid from the tranny and the convertor he would have to put in the 5 qts first then start the car let the pump pull the rest of the fluid through. Turning the car over by hand wont be fast enough to do the job. Let me know how things turn out
