I cut the hole in my dash for my finish line glovebox and now decided that I dont want to use it. If I were to rivit a piece of aluminum over or under the hole would it showthe ouline under the padded dash covering? Anyone tried this? Thanks. Dan

I'd not rivet it but bond it with JB-Weld Epoxy. That way there's less chance of it showing because of rivet heads.

Or if you want it to be almost as smooth as it originally was, cut out a piece of aluminum that is the larger than the hole and bond it to the back side of the dash over the hole. Then cut out a piece that is the same shape as the hole and bond that piece in the hole, bonded to the larger piece of aluminum that is covering the hole from the back side.. make sense?

Arlington is spot on. I bet SR71 has done that a few times just like I have.

Or if your just using the standard FFR dash layout I have and extra one(holes cut) you can have for the price of shipping.
