I know I don't have to install the door sill panels for a while, but have others experienced very poor fitment of their door sills? I'll have to trim a decent amount off as it hits the chassis.
Refer to this picture: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/wdHzkNBDtM9aQdM1cbbGcw?authkey=Gv1sRgCPuJ6_r1uYT-pQE&feat=directlink

Also, I've heard that the aluminum panels have a number on them which correlates with a legend in the manual, yet I don't have that page in my manual.

Can someone please tell me what the following panels are for:

Picture number 1 looks like the left and right side top panels for the radiator scoop.

Picture number 2 - door latch trim plates on the left (rounded panels), don't remember what the rectangle brackets were for. The 2 big panels go between the body and the footboxes. I think the 2 in the middle are also for the radiator scoop... The Z looking panel I think is the left or right dash supports that go on the ends of the dash.

Picture number 3 - upper wheel splash panels are the 2 larger ones. The curved one on the right is also body to footbox panel (I think)...

Panels in #1 are the side panels for the radiator ducting - behind the radiator, The curved notch on one side is clearance for the lower radiator hose

In the second pic - it's hard to read the numbers, but....
The pieces with holes and curved ends - are trim for the door striker openings.
The one in the upper right is the panels that goes between the firewall and the body on the passenger side (outside of the footbox to body behind the hood latch area)
The crescent shaped one below it is the same thing but for the Drivers side.

The two in the middle that look like 12844 go from the radiator duct sides to the front nose support tubing.

The rest, I'm not sure...

Awesome - thanks for the help!

Does anyone have pictures of the small boxes that have been made to cover up the rear shock mounts?

Yes Project- do NOT trim the sill panels- if anything I wish they were longer (and I might have to make two new full width door sills that would be a upside down "U" shape to cover some bad body work by me).

I know it looks confusing but do some searches of the coupe forum and you will see photos of all this stuff installed (Russ Thompson's photos should be a big help- you need someone that used a solid axle to see the shock cover boxes- I know they are on this forum). It might be hard to reconize it because you might be looking at the panel upside down on the bench from it's installed position. Do not cut anything till you KNOW you have too (is some cases I remade some panels to be LONGER, not cut shorter).

As Russ said the panels with the square openings are used for the Mustang switches but they also support the lower edge of the dash whether you use the Mustang stuff or not. I 2nd the "don't cut anything"!
