I have a Powermaster 1-wire alternator that was advertised by Summit as being "black powdercoated". It actually turns out to have a cheezy black paint job. Since the last time I took one of these apart it was called a "generator", I figured I'd ask. How hard is it, and how much inadvertant damage can I do, if I disassemble it for a repaint or a real powdercoat?

Should'nt be a big deal at all.A series of witness marks or some close up pics will allow you to index or "clock" the parts to the right orientation for reassembly.Remember to capture the brushes with a small wire or something like that during assembly.A impact gun will be needed to remove/install the pulley.
