Hey Guys,
I had a bad alternator and I swapped over to another one I had and now it seems to be overcharging. I drove it for about 20 minutes and it was charging above 16V. When I would come to a stop or idle it would drop back to around 13V but as soon as I revved it even the slightest bit it would start climbing. I turned off the kill switch when I parked it in case there is a short. What could be causing my overcharge? Is it the little black module that holds the brushes?

Hi Mike. It sounds like your regulator is not working. It is internal in the alternator. Most parts stores are able to test your alternator for you before purchasing any parts for it.
