Last week I installed a front Mazda Miata sway bar on the rear of my IRS. Yesterday I installed a front Miata Bar on the Front of my car. I have Forte's LCA's. I started with a piece of 1"x 2" retangle tubing to make brackets to mount the bar. (There's no place to buy steel near me so I butt welded 2 pieces of 1/2"x 2 channel from Home Depot to make the rectangle tubes). I used my sawzall to cut the front tow eyes off the front of the two chassis tubes and then welded the rectangle tube brackets to the front of the Chassis. Everything else bolted up great. The rod ends were from McMaster Carr. If you've never ordered from them, they are really quick. I get everything in 2 days with just regular shipping.
2 each #6072K213
2 each #6072K14
Total $46.99 plus $40.50 for Sway Bar from ebay, Grand total $87.49.
I've ordered the polyurathane bushings from Energy Suspensions $14.99 but I haven't received them yet.

Great timing Tom! It's on my list of projects to do in the next two weeks... Can you snap a pic of how the rod end attaches to the shock mount - in front of the shock, did you need spacers, etc...

The Miata bars I used were 3/4" off the front of a 90-97 Miata. The rod ends attach to the shock bolt and I mount them to the rear of the shock. I switched the shock bolts to grade 8 and I used three washers on the shock bolt. One between the tab and shock, shock and rod end, and rod end and tab. The car corners much flatter now. I'm very happy with the results and I'd like to thank Doug Dunkerley for the Miata bar idea. Between the front and rear bars, polyurathane mounts, rod ends, and grade 8 bolts I have a grand total of $210 for both front and rear bars.

I have a couple of stock front miata bars sitting around. They are free to whomever wants them. Just pickup the shipping costs.
I may have a rear as well but I'll have to check on it.

ADDCO makes a 7/8" bar for the Miata(#557) which I'm going to use for my front. The rear I'm going with a Addco #2029 which is for a Escort ZX2.(3/4"). Both are powder coated black, "NEW"parts, shipped for $256.
Will post pics when done.
Not coated in this pic but they are now(by ADDCO).
