I dont remember where we purchased that exhaust from, but it is the same as mikes at sweet thunder. It was 4 years ago when i did the frame off restoration on that car and i'm afraid that i just cant recall you sold that particular exhaust. This system is straight through 2-1/2" diameter with a chambered section in the middle that is about 26 inches long and then where the mufflers would normally be there is also a chambered section-about another 16 inches long. I know that if you run an undercar exhaust in the cobra that you will not be able to use such long sections, so my suggestion is to run the 2" or 2-1/4" diameter mufflers. I dont think they will eat up too much power.

here is a video of the 65 Vette with 2-1/4" sidepipes. It has a higher performance engine so the pipes are louder. These sidepipes came straight from sweet-thunder

I've been thinking the last couple day's.
I saw a Cobra at a show a coulpe weeks ago that had all 4" tube for side pipes and they looked really good. Sweet thunders Vett inserts would give me options for the sound level I want.

I have Lobaks on my FFR pipes with new collectors and tips. I liked the sound.

Running Gas-N SS now but thinking I want something different..Not that there bad..
Summit has the 4" vett pipes that take inserts.

Stainless Works can make me a 4" tube with turn-out the length i need, the collectors and the 4 tubes and flange for the front in SS. Then I'd use Sweet Thunder inserts and have the option of 3 different sizes....

I thought about doing the same thing with the 4 inch vette tubes and mikes sweet thunder inserts. However, then the FFR pipes arrived that he put the custom shortened inserts in and i am a happy man now. I even offered to send them to FFR for testing incase they want to switch to using his inserts. They said they would get back to me after all the shock caos calms down.
