I have access to near new calipers and rotors from a 2001 Mustang Cobra at next to no cost. What do I need to convert to 5-lug front and rear? I have gotten differing, if not confusing responses. I have not started my build; in fact I don’t expect the kit until the middle of next month. I’m just trying to get my ducks in a row. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Mike,

On the front using 2001 calipers as you describe, someone else can reply.

You can use 88-93 calipers and spindles with 1985 Lincoln Mark VII rotors to convert 4-lug 4 1/4" to 5-lug 4 1/2" bolt circle.

Call Richard Oben at North Cobras. He'll tell you exactly what you need. Mike Forte would also be helpful.

Five lug wheels are significantly less expensive than the four lug wheels. There is some thought that the five lug also has an advantage in wheel stability, but I can't say that I have seen that exactly.

To add to what Dan said. Look at the 4 lug wheels options versus 5 lug. You get much more choices.

you can use 2 ranger drivers side axles for both sides of the mustang 8.8 or you can use 2 passenger side axles from a ford areostar mini van.
