Okay, got my 5.0 Motor, and was figuring while it was out of the car some possible power adders. I was thinking mainly bolt-ons, but any suggestions would be helpful. here's thoe goal: Healthy reliable Hp between 300bhp and 400bhp
Here's my plan: Te Exhuast headers look incredibly restrictive, maybe a good port and new headers are in line (which headers should I go with). ALso, the intake Manifold systm looks awful perhaps a new one is in line (GT 40? SVO?) as well as a larger throttle body. And New Cams, for less friction and higher lift? I'm hoping to spend about 1500-2000 $ is my expectation realistic? Will I get above 300hp with these mods? Thanks!!!

Probably not with the stock heads. Get a good set of heads (GT-40, GT-40P, any aluminums) or throw a supercharger on it

Of course, you'll get alot of opinions here, but my preference is as follows: street first, perhaps frequent track events. Ford E cam with 1.70s or 1.72s OR Trick Flow cam (221 intake, 224? exhaust) w/ 1.65 rockers. Any one of many manifolds for bottom end (GT-40, Trick Flow, Edelbrock), 1 5/8" equal lengths, 65 mm TB, 73 or larger MAF, aluminum heads (AFR 165s or TFS).
With these combos you'll be anywhere from 280-300 RWHP, 315-340 RWTorque (which is 330-350 engine HP, 375-395 ft.-lbs engine torque). You'll still get good mileage, a nice burbly cam, and a square torque curve from 3000-6200 RPM. In autocross you'll have power just about anywhere you want it and still be able to lug the motor at 1000 RPM in your neighborhood idling down the road.
