Hi

Thanks for reading and maybe helping! I ran the 5/16th fuel lines in the kit ... and have a concern, because the fittings on the 390 fuel pump are 3/8ths! before I start the engine ... should I re-route with 3/8ths fuel line .... will the engine starve for fuel running the 5/16ths line?

Thanks
Matt

Matt,

It shouldn't be a problem. In fact most of the early 390 FE's used 5/16 fuel lines. I know all the Fairlanes made prior to 1967 used 5/16 fuel line. From 1968 on, they switched to 3/8. I believe it was the same with the Mercury's.

Sorry for the late reply...

If it is a stock rebuild of a 390, than 5/16 should be ok. If you have added any "go-fast" goodies whatsoever to add some power, you very well might want to switch to 3/8" to be on the safe side.
