As I prepare to start my build, I keep jumping about on the issue of a 302 vs 351. One issue is the overall weight difference. It seems like the 302 give the FFR a pretty good weight balance (front vs rear). My questions are:

1: what is the weight difference between a 302 and a 351W?

2: What is the resulting weight balance in the FFR (front versus rear).

3: Has anyone noticed a front end heaviness if they have a 351?

1. about 50#'s
2. Spec racer is about 40/60(rear)
3. Probably not noticeable

let's see.. 500hp and 50 pounds.. nope no problems there..

I have ridden in a 427 era big block and can say it feels front heavy.. but looked great and if I had it I would get used to it!

A 351 with aluminun heads runs about the same wieght as a 302 with iron heads,Go with the 351 block.

i doubt you would notice much of a difference just driving the car around. even racing it would be subtle.
