the problem starts with the Edlebrock heads. they dont drill the hole in the head in the same location as EVERY other head manufacturer. the alt. wont line up with my bracket because of this. I have a fix for the 302 but not the 351. If anybody can reccommend an alt. bracket that would work I am sure we would both appreiciate it.
I've used Edelbrock heads before, and I've not had the problem you describe.
However, at one time Ford apparently did. So they made a little bracket that bolted to two of the holes in the head, and had a boss for the alternator bolt to thread in to. If you have a welder and a hacksaw, it would be pretty easy to make one.
