1. I may have the PCV valve hosed-up wrong. Its installed behind the intake; where is it properly hosed to?
2. Also, I have a vented breather cap on the pass. side valve cover; I believe that normally this cap has a tube on it that gets hosed to the elbow next to the TPS. Should I change to this configuration? Or can I leave it the way it is and plug the elbow?

Dale, In theory the PCV valve is connected to the intake manifold, engine side of the throttle plate. It needs to connected to a high vacuum source.
The other side aka breather is connected in front of the throttle plate, as a example: to the air cleaner for a carb car.
I'm not efi so I don't have the exact locations but in theory thats where they go.

The PVC Valve hose connects to a vacuum line tube on the Intake manifold, on the under side in the rear, there are several. You won't be using all of them, so make sure you cap them off. Autozone has a package of various sizes of rubber plugs for this.

Your breather hose is correctly hookup as you described.
