Finished installing my 3-link upgrade last week and went autocrossing Saturday morning. 295-50R 15 tires and three link don't work. The clearence between the right shock mount and the sidewall of the tire is minimal but when you drop the air pressures and do some shall we say spirited driving the results are not pretty, actually down right dangerous. I called Factory Five and they said that the 3-link was designed for a maximun tire size of 275's It looks like some 17" wheels are in my future.

Yes, but you have to adjust the offset. And then you have to worry about hitting the body lip.

It's hard to find 285/295 tires in 17"

Rich:
Please go back and read all the prior posts about 315 and 335 tires before you spend any money. The 285's and 295's that some of us are using just squeak by. Anything wider usually requires substantial welding. The only other alternative is to buy Tristates body as it's 3" wider across the butt.

Happy motoring

What is the maximum width of the 295s? Tread and Sidewall would be mucho beneficial... The reason I ask is that I'm still contemplating Nitto 315DRs which measure 12.25" at their widest on a 10" wheel. TIA!

I am running the SN95 rear axles with the disc brakes. These axles are longer than the ealier four lug axles. I am running 10x15 Team Three Wheels with a 7" backset. This backset is recomended by FFR when using the SN95 axles.

Uh oh. I just got my 3-link from the UPS guy last night. I'm running 295/50's on 15x10's too. Only difference is I have PSE wheels on a stock fox 8.8 rear which I believe is .75" narrower per side. Does anybody know what the stock PSE 15x10 4-lug wheels have for backspace. I *think* they're 6", which should give me 1/4" more clearance.

I may look at trimming the corner of the bracket back about 3/8" and welding in a gusset if I have clearance issues. I'd hate to give up my fat tires! ;)

I have a set of 17x9 inch Cobra R rims that I use for AutoX. The rears have 275-40/17 Kumhos mounted. I feel the rims are too narrow for that tire size. The foot print of the tread seems to be narrower than if it were mounted on a 10" or larger rim. I know a Mustang owner who wants to buy the Cobra R's and I'm going to get a set of PS replica rims and mount Goodyear or Hoosier slicks on them. I am forced to compete in MOD against other cars with slicks so why fight it.

Great imput ,thanks all. The 335 idea is on the wish list. I had the 295/50/15 with a narrowed rear on my frist roadster ,this one will have the fms cobra brake kit. I'll work some thing out, this new roadster is realy an improvement. Thanks
