Hey All, I searched and found a lot of posts about tire widths, but has anyone ran a 27” or 28” tall tire? Quick eyeball it looks like there’s room, but could be close with a wide 28” tire. With some cars making big power and general traction issues, I’d think a 28” tire would help.

I would think that is a no go with frame interference on the front side.

I am going to put 28" Mickey Thompson Street S/R. series on my 65 Coupe. The ground clearance from the bell housing is tragically low. This will add 1"of height. My rear rims are 17" x 11". and there looks to be plenty of room to stuff 28" x 12" tires.
For me I have to change the tires on my car - I've ordered but not received them yet - I will post if they fit.
For my particular 65' the suspension is very stiff - the car is very light and even with me and another person standing on the frame. - we don't see the rear end dipping down to cause any concern of tire rubbing.

I am putting 28" in the front also - there is ample clearance in my setup. I am not sure where the suggest tire size in the manual comes from it is very conserative.

Also, i'd rather rub the tires then bottom out the bell housing! any day.
