I got a good deal on a 1994-95 5.0 and T5 out of a Mustang from a private party. I did not get an ECU. When I called Automotive Electronic Solutions the guy wanted to know which ECU I wanted? He had about 5 different ones. He thought a F4ZF-EA might be the right one? Is this the one I need? On Car-Parts.com they break them down as Cobra or Non-Cobra. Any advice would be helpful.

Yes there are about 5 different ECMs.
Is the engine a Cobra or non Cobra engine?
That will narrow it down to at least to 2 different ECMs.

Is there a way to look at the engine and tell if it is a cobra? The intake is labeled "5.0 HO" but I don't see "Cobra" anyplace.

Here's what a 94-95 cobra looks like. If it's a cobra, the heads are GT40, not GT40P, and the part # is E3ZE or E4ZE.

Get an A9L ecu for the manual trans setup. It will fit any 5.0 from 88 on.

I think the part # is F3ZF-12A650-DB. They go for about $200-300 used.

5.0L with manual trans, either a F4Z412A650EA or F4Z412A650FA from what I have come up with.
