Looks good! That ought to help a lot, getting in and out with the roof on.

Looks great, good upgrade, I did an NRG quick release steering wheel too, love it. Did you also install a functional steering wheel horn button?

Hay guys, (yes that’s the way I spell it lol) are you using the low profile, a little over an inch, design? I found that over a year ago and have talked to Russ Thompson about using it with his turn signal. He was thinking he might be able to make it work so we can use his turn signal and a quick release wheel. He was going to try on mine as a prototype but unfortunately health and financial reasons put our whole build on hold pretty much the same month it was delivered ? Body is still on the chassis.
Do you like the NRG? Any problems? That’s the one where you push the little button and turn the collar to release right?
I read some reviews a year or so ago about play in the steering wheel.... any feedback on that? I was willing to put up with some of that to have the best of both worlds. I figured I’d be the Guinea pig or take one for the team as no one has ever mentioned NRG on either forum.
Looking forward to your feedback

Hello Kurt,

Yes your description is correct and is exactly the way my quick release works, push the button turn the collar and off comes the wheel and it goes back on just the same no slop or play in the steering at all.

You can see the locking ring and release button a little better from this angle

...Is that a RT turn signal?
It looks like it, if so do you do it or did Russ do it?
Kurt
+1 same question!

Do you have pictures of mods done to make it work?

My power steering system is a Unisteer electric power steering unit and the steering column is a cut down nostalgia unit from Ididit, it is not an RT column, basically its the same exact setup that Factory Five installs on the 33 Hot rod.

The steering wheel is an NRG ST-035-CH 330mm Classic Wood Grain in chrome 3-Spoke.

Which hub did you use?

I used a GM 6 Hole .5" Billet Steering Wheel Adapter and an NRG Short Steering Wheel Quick - Carbon Fiber - Part # SRK-400CF
