30 minutes to put it in ? You da Man ! Took us 18 hrs to remove a 327 in my 68 vett. and install a 427...........Good job !!!

|silver_pilate||Thanks, Edward. Now that I've slept and am recalling better, the transmission was too far to the DRIVER'S side to line up with the rear mount, making me pull it to the passenger side to get the bolts started. I bet it's definitely an A frame support alignment issue and/or tranny mount issue. I may have to remove some powder coating in the holes to get more play in the rear A frame mount or slot them very slightly depending on how far the mount shifts.|

|edwardb||Congrats on getting the engine in. Always a big step. Looks good. Check the placement of the rear transmission mount. There's typically enough adjustment there to slide the transmission over. That's a common combination of parts and no reason for there to be interference. I'm not familiar with those particular motor mounts, but in addition to the obvious problem of hitting the frame, having it skewed over that direction will give you trouble with side pipe alignment. The transmission should end up about 1-inch or so to the right of the chassis center line. Same as the engine.|

It really wasn't bad at all. A leveler is the only way to go if doing this by yourself. Took about 30 minutes to get the engine in, going really slowly. My 8 year old was able to help me out as the engine wanted to twist off line a bit; he was able to keep it pointed in the right direction.
I do have one question. When getting the A frame transmission support in and then securing the transmission mount, I had a hard time getting it lined up, with the transmission sitting just a bit too far to the passenger side.
It's so much that it's actually making contact with the 3/4 tube on the passenger side of the tunnel. This is with solid dropped motor mounts that have not been secured to the frame just yet.
Any thoughts on better alignment? Should I try to clock the motor a bit too pull the transmission way from the tunnel?
