I finished the damn thing!!!!! Finished the dash with the new turn signal switch and put it completely back together, put the steering wheel back on, installed the badges, mounted the license plate bracket, changed the oil, washed it, used a clay bar, washed it again, waxed it and drove it to work this morning! I stayed up until 2:30 last night...but it was definitely worth it! MAN, did it turn out good if I do say so myself. Everybody always loves it, but I never had compliments like this morning and early afternoon. This new paint and interior make for a completely new and different car.

Nice I was thinking about going this year. I am a air traffic controller. I have been working planes in and out of the air show for over 16 yrs and I have never been. Lol maybe this is the year.

As far as what did I do with my roadster? Stared at a incomplete car wondering what's next to get me closer to first start! Lol

egchewy got heads back from machine shop yesterday. nice and clean after dip in hot tank and new seals installed. working on cleaning up the block now for new paint job. hammered out some dents in donor oil pan. wrestled with rear hard brake lines trying to find a good solution bringing fluid from one side to the other.

NiceGuyEddie I looked at my knackered MK3 fiberglass-bottomed roadster seats and said, "I gotta get around to replacing them things."

Then I thought about this thread that I started, the longest-running in ffcars history!

Steven K Dropped off my 17 year old brand new, never used GT40P heads to the machine shop to get them cleaned up. They will be going on my Blue Print engines short block as soon as I get them back.

donkeykong I probably should have joined in on this thread back in December! Since then...

Repainted the car, stripped the entire interior and put it mostly back together.

Last night, I installed the side vent louvers.

I'm almost there to getting everything ready to go. I've never waited this long to go for a drive to start the season. Hopefully I'll have my small punch list knocked out by the weekend!

Mark K You're almost there, Eddie! Congrats in advance!

Stone Guards

Finally pulled these off the shelf and took the time to figure out the mounting procedure. Kind of like the vintage look.

vspeeds My car is brand new build. It's mostly completed but I still have some aluminum panels to install and some jewelry. I have a build log in the other forum:

https://thefactoryfiveforum.com/show...0-Build-Thread

Today I completed another step in my California DMV registration process. I went to get brake and lamp inspection. The shop was 16 miles away from my house. So this is the farthest I've ever driven away from home. I took the back roads there. Then I took the freeway back home. What a blast. I can't wait till this thing is fully registered. I put over 700 miles in go-kart and another 100 with the body on.

Avalanche325 Prepping the car for a run up to Savannah for autocross on Sunday.

Hydraulic clutch setup is working great. What a fun job that was on a completed car.

I am glad to read that some stalled projects are getting motivated again.

John, Glad to see you got your quadrant done. Also some nice looking vents.

Thanks, Rob. There is nothing like seeing ~140 Cobras lined up then and leaving a big parking lot and parading into town. If that doesn't relight the flame I don't think anything will. Check out this video.

John4337 As part of my effort to get cool air into the engine bay, I finished up fresh air vents from the front and vents in the splash panels

Bobby Doug I changed out the passenger side valve cover gasket. I had been chasing an oil leak and could not figure out where it was coming from. It seemed like it was coming from the front main seal. After cleaning up the passenger side of the engine from the oil leak and adding the fluorescent dye to the oil I finally detected the leak coming from the passenger side valve cover. The silicon/steel embedded gasket had split on the front of the valve cover by the alternator. The oil was running down the head and onto the block. Since the cylinder head was hot the oil almost invisible to the eye. Darkness, a black light, and short drives finally revealed where the leak was at. Crawling under a hot car to find the leak is not something I want to do again.

Steven K After many years of life getting in the way, I am starting on the car again, determined to get it done to drive it to the London Ohio Cobra show next year. My wife heard about the London show and she insisted we go this year hoping I'd get re-inspired. It worked!! The garage has been cleaned out and the build will start again this weekend.

OSU Cowboy Verified ... in go cart stage ... that my latest attempt at bleeding the air out of the radiator / cooling system was successful. Temps held at 180F.

Planning to have The Travelling Builder here in October to help me with final assembly ... to be followed with tag / title / registration.

No body work & paint until I've got at least 2000 miles on it.

jhargrove Headers. "Thats a beut Clark!"

The new engines have nothing on these old school engines. I have to say this thing is a work of art!

Hopefully it runs! Lol that's key
