help with AC hoses

So i am about to finish the tunnel aluminum i figured i should finish mounting up all the AC vent hoses to the vintage air unit.

Here is what i know:

The set of 4 hose attachment points are for the following
  • the forward most plenum is for the passenger side pod duct
  • the plenum second from the front for the driver side dash vent
  • the rear two plenums for the center ducts

The set of 2 that are at the top:
  • Dash vent 1
  • Dash vent 2

Here is what i don't understand, I assume the last 2 on the front are for the foot wells, however Factory five only supplies the 4 dash vents and the 2 defrost vents. do they intend for the foot well vents to just dump straight into the top aluminum in each foot well with no vent cover?

or do i have this all wrong?

I remember the foot wells having vents like the top dash defrost ones.

I also read that in another post. Interestingly I didn't receive those, the instructions make it sound like the round hose should just dump into the top of the foot box.

I did notice that Summit Racing and Amazon both seem to sell Vintage Air vents.

I think the easiest and best looking solution would be to pick up two more of the round vents. They have a model that doesn't have the option to shut the vents off. I can drill holes for those just above the AC unit on the two pieces of aluminum to the left and right of the AC unit.

The question is can i fit all the vent lines in that tight space. I will experiment tomorrow.

Yes, the 4 ducts that are all together on the unit go to the 4 vents in the dash. The 2 smaller ones on top are for defrost. The 2 at the bottom rear of the unit are for the floor vents.

Yes the kit used to come with 4 defrost ducts and you would use 2 of them for the defrost and the other 2 for the floor vents. No need to have the ability to shut the vents off as that is done at the controls. If you don't want air coming out at your feet, move the dial off of the floor vent setting.

So yeah....with later kits, you may have to shop around for some vents to use for the floor since they aren't provided in the kit anymore.
