Body and panels are sanded to 180 grit. I want to shoot featherfill before the temp drops too low.
I have to clean the body and parts first but with what???
Wax and grease remover or a prepsol of some sort. Check the featherfill can they may recommend something. The object is to use something that will clean the surface without leaving a film of any sort.
I used Klean-Strip Prep-All. Several gallons of it through the whole process. I was erring on the side of caution, so likely did some overkill. I also used a gallon of a PPG water based cleaner, but didn't like it. It took longer to dry and seemed to leave a little residue. I still have 1/2 of a gallon. Go figure, the nastier stuff works better.
Generally you should thoroughly clean the body before you start sanding so you don't drive contaminants in. Also do a wipe-down between grits.
