Front mounts ?? Did FFR stop using them?

Getting close to being finished gocart is done although haven't drove it yet and in the final prep stages for paint. Been a heck of a battle pretty much all the way through. What an experience! Good & bad ! Got to ask something. In the Roadster Base Kit Assembly manual revision 3R update, shows some curved weird thing that attaches to the back of the signal lights and to the quick jacks. Is this still being used or was it dropped from the kit? Reason I ask is nothing like that showed up in my kit. I did get a bracket that I was told was for the hood pins that rarely anyone uses. This isn't something I would miss or misplace, I'm super orderly type. Let me know if you guys got one or use them. TY George

They would have been installed at the factory. If you have an older Mark4 then you probably have the system where the quick jack bolts sandwich the body. I have a set or 2 laying around somewhere if you want them.

I received them with my complete kit delivered in 2015, but I discarded them when I discovered they interfered with the intakes for my foot box vents.

If you decide to get & use them, I seem to recall one of the Jeffs stating you have to tweak them to get the mounting pads in alignment with the final body position, otherwise they pull the body out of position.

Hey thanks guys, but if they aren't "required" I'd rather not use them, for the reason John said pulling the body out of position. My concern was did the signal lights need metal backing? Mine is a older MK4 kit Mike, June 14, yes I know it should be done by now. lol

No metal backing required. The fiberglass on my body was nearly 1/4" thick under the front signals. Plus, the brackets are a fairly recent addition; loads of cars on the road don't have them.

They began using the continuous tube and horseshoe brackets 3-4 years ago. I'm not a fan of the brackets; I've had 2 cars arrive with cracks around the parking lamp pad which I attribute to them. I'm also not a fan of the split tubes that preceded them; I've had cars with cracks around them as well. My preference is the rubber grommets and full length 3/4" diameter tubes only.

Jeff,
I have 3/4” tubes and rubber grommets, you’re saying I should ditch the brackets?

Thanks
