We have lost a friend - RIP Todd Buttrick

I just found out that sadly our friend Todd Buttrick lost his battle with cancer. I met him over 15 years ago, he was the ultimate "Cobra Guy". I went on Open house caravans, went to CT cobra bashes, and even just met at his house for an afternoon cruise.
He loved to drive his FFR Cobra and talk cars. A giant loss to the Cobra community. He will be missed (over 6500 posts here).
God bless Todd......

Never met, but chatted and swapped posts here. Always a good thing to say.

Aw man, so sorry to hear this. Todd has definitely been a fixture in our FFR community. Although we only got to meet briefly at one of the Open Houses we've talked via forum posts and private messages for nearly two decades. Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Terrible news! Todd was one of the best guys, and I remember when his wife Jillian passed away maybe 15 years ago. We named the Challenge Series East Coast Cup in her honor.

Just having returned from the London Cobra Show, and seeing so many old friends that go way back, it is hard to realize how fleeting all of this is. Todd will be missed.

Thoughts and prayers to his children.

I asked Mad Dog to add some photos of Todd to this post. Here they are.

Todd gives a ride to Gary Cheney's (standing) wife Tatiana.

Todd and his period-correct Mk2 Roadster was a friend of everyone in the Factory Five world.

Todd’s car was flawless, but also driven on the street and raced at autocross and road race events.

Wow, what a shock. I've know Todd since the beginning and met him at Carlisle Show and saw his great build. I wanted to check his paint colors because I was thinking of using them on my coupe.

Prayers sent to his family, was a great part of the FFR family. Rest in peace Todd.

So sad, a great guy. I first met Todd a Ron Randall's "Metal-Morphous". A wealth of knowledge about Factory Five and always willing to share. He had a really tough time after he lost his wife but after awhile he bounced back. We lost a really good man. RIP Todd!

Very, very sorry, to hear this news.

Todd was one of the originals, back when I joined FFCobra.com. He was always willing to help with suggestions, and encouragement, during my roadster build. Our community of builders has lost some very fine people over the years, and sadly we have lost another. RIP Todd Buttrick. My condolences to his family.

It is unacceptable that there is still someone that thinks they can impose their view through the use of intimidation.

Such sad news, so sorry to read this today. Great memories of him hosting the pig roast party way back in the day, open house, and he even did the alignment on my cobra at one point. Great guy who you wanted to be around.

Last time I saw Todd was 2014, we met up at his house, went for a drive and had lunch at a local spot. I took this pic of our cars, just spent hours looking for it. We ended the run at Wayne Carini's shop, looked in the windows because it was closed.

Before we parted, he hugged me and said I was the best. Todd, you're the best. Rest in peace my friend.

Mark Reynolds thanked this.

Sorry to hear. As I creep on on a half century old, my greatest fear is getting cancer and dying at too-early of an age.

I knew him here by his posts, and he was a very helpful guy.

It's a sad day when a group such as this loses what seemed like one of the early members. I did not have the pleasure or honor of meeting Todd, but I can tell that his memory is held with respect. I have only recently joined the Forum, but have followed it for a few years. There are many here that I hold with this same regard.

Many prayers and condolences for his family.

Carl, I was so sad when you told me of this last week. Truly crushed. Todd was a true original and one of the people who keeps us going in this sport and hobby we all love. I remember the first trip to open house with Todd and our group of 22 cars. We met with Todd for many more trips and events over the years, often following his impeccably built roadster to many locations. I am still at a loss for words. God speed Todd. Prayers to you and your family also. Rest well. We will listen for you in the thunder.

I met Todd around 2003 in southern CT. I drove up towards him to sell a set of kooks, headers & side pipes from my MK1. We met kept in touch via email and of course here on the forum because Todd was an extremely knowledgeable FFR guy . He was also a terrific person. RIP Todd...........

Very sorry to hear this news… Todd was the guy who planted the FFR build seed in my mind. I met him roughly 10 years ago at the Import / Replica show in Carlisle PA not long after his car was finished and I walked away inspired, he was just that kind of guy who brought passion to everything he did. RIP Todd. You will be missed.
