I suppose if someone twisted my arm, I might pay $5000.00 Throw out all the donor stuff and you still only have a real nasty looking mark 1

I feel sorry for not only the family's loss, but for whoever buys this pile of parts. The really sad part, it that you can pick up fully running MK1 cars for about the same price.

That was someoneís dream, too bad they didnít get to see it through.

Not every build can be all new top of the line parts. At one time this car was the start of a nice donor build that would have been driven and enjoyed.

Might be overpriced for whatís there and the condition now and the pics and description could be improved but letís not hate on someone who didnít get to see their dream completed or the family having to sell this.

Its already got the patina that everyone clamors about! Looks like they got to the hard part and just stopped. Very typical build for the era of the kit. I have 2166 and it was donor built. Nowadays its too easy to buy everything new since it has been done so many times over all these years. Of course lurking on the forum exposes you to all those beautiful builds and the bar is constantly being raised.

They forgot "Survivor"!

That would raise it to $29k.

I'm curious about the receipt in the pictures. Was Classic Roadsters a dealer for Factory Five in the early days?

I think I can save you the $19k to get as hood hoop! Seems in my parts room I have one hanging on the wall!
I have a lot of older "vintage" Mark I parts in my parts room! I left a IM about the hoop if you are really interested.

I actually though about having a spare … no doors, or trunk lid! BUT you do get a pair of door latch assemblies! And if I keep hitting deer while out driving the spare body and headlight shells will come in handy!

I didn't see any hate here. Looks to me like someone was paid to remove this thing from the property and think they stepped in a gold mine

I agree. No one was saying anything about the original owner or how the build was. We were all poking fun at the nitwits that are trying to sell something for 10X what it is worth by using collector auction buzz words.

Now, back to the fluffy bunnies, kittens and butterfly forum.......

I didn't think the day would be this soon that I'd see a Factory Five 'barn find'... how the years fly by...

Still way too high. I think anyone that knows nothing about FFR cars still would not bid on that. It just doesn't present well.

Hey Eddie. I never even thought about the COO If they don't have it, then its just a parts car. VERY hard to get one of these on the road without it.

That kit was $9500. It was about when I bought my kit. Realistically, I'd say $2000.

I think $2000 is about right also. You'd get a frame, which obviously needs to be powdercoated, plus a couple of "hard" parts such as axle housing, engine block, hopefully a couple of boxes of stuff like tail lights.

At least it has 5-lug wheels. and the steering wheel is wrapped in plastic. The windshield seems to be in good shape, I understand they cost about $800.

Edit: aw shucks, the listing is closed. I was very curious to see if this would go for any price at all.
