I LOVE my 302 as well!!

They never run hot, and my brother's turned 374HP at the crank.

With forged internals, and 4-bolt splayed mains in a high nickle (diesel-like) block, I can bolt on another 125HP via supercharger if desired.

I don't know why Ford stopped making this engine.

Just did a ~7 hour loop from my house to Front Royal to Skyline Drive to Charlottesville back to my house in Northern Virginia. Went from ~1200 miles on the odometer to ~1500. Had an absolute blast; passing slow moving vehicles was as easy as waving as I went by!

Awesome! I haven't tested my SBF 347 yet but I cant wait. I grew up with the 5.0 Mustang engines from the 80 and 90s always wanted one. Atleast this started life as one. Nothing left except the block of this 1988 302 HO

That's a fact. I can't go for a ride without getting a thumbs up, a honk, or shout out of approval. Mostly guys driving dump trucks or garbage trucks, but plenty of little old ladies driving Mercedes too.

My biggest regret is that now that I finally have a car that's cool enough, girls no longer flash like they did in the 80s. (I grew up in a vacation resort town). How do we bring that fad back?

It's not that the fad has ended but the thing is that those girls who were flashing back in the 80s are now in their 50s and they realize that we aren't really all that interested in seeing what they (OK, most of them) have to show us! The other thing is that the young ones who will flash aren't interested in doing so for a bunch of old farts like us. We're stuck in an unfortunate Catch 22
