I haven't done anything to mine in 8 plus months, it sits inside a bubble just waiting for me.... In the mean time I am getting other projects done.

with 8 cars in my possesion, I have plenty to drive..... I need to do an oil change on my Cobra I guess soon.

the weather was finally at a comfortable temperature and I have now completed disassembly of the top-end of the motor. I already have a buyer for the heads, cam and rockers!!!

I don't quite recall how I torqued the heads but I did notice the upper-nuts seemed to be a lot tougher to loosen than the lower nuts near the headers... IMO, almost too loose realtive to what the uppers felt like.

I did find a little orange permatex blocking a cooling hole between cylinder 1 & 2 so I will be looking into one of those "mesh-traps" for the coolant hose!

Here's a few pics I took after everything was removed:

I inspected each cylinder and the cross hatching is still visible (only about 11,000 miles).

I'm debating to lower the pan and see what's really in there; I don't think much should be there; I just don't relish having to re-seal it since it's never leaked.

got ready for autocross. it's not for 5 days, but i will be away until the very evening before. i finished my blue tape job on the front nose, dropped all four tires to 19psi, packed the trunk with three camper's chairs. packed my helmet, sunscreen (!), and tire pressure gauge.

thoroughly cleaned the residual gas stains and puddles on the intake. the track is 15 miles away, as soon as i get there, i'll try to see where the gas is leaking from.

then, i'm all ready to do a little intake pulling.

Yesterday I installed the engine: https://www.ffcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=264296

Today I installed the driveshaft and safety hoop, filled up the lines with break fluid and bled all 4 corners. Brakes work great and the ebrake is awesome.

Might start on my mechanical throttle linkage next. Then I need to run the line to my hydraulic clutch.

I installed exhaust wedges from Breeze that straightened out my pipes beautifully. I also installed a really nice braided steel Lokar throttle cable. Then I fired it up in the garage and got kind of woozy on fumes.

Tie-wrapped the last of the wiring to the ABS and the IGN 3/4 second start delay box.

Adjusted the gap in the rear ABS sensors-tone rings to .027"

In the past few days:

Lowered the oil pan, cleaned out the thin film of sludge at the bottom and other particulate matter.

Removed the old Jeep master cylinder.

Cut out a 1'x1' section of aluminum next to the throttle pedal.
