You are right, i don't like all of it, variations in personal taste right? But i like 98% of it!!! Fantastic job, i think your kids are right. Oh, and, if your wife loves it, that is even more important than if you do. i enjoy the times when my wife and i go to an event together as much as i do my autocrosses. Fantastic FFR!!!

Congrats, very nicely done. Love the color, interior looks comfy and I really like the hood release , wish I'd thought of something like that.

Enjoy the results of your hard work, Jim.

It's only beginning!

Once again...someone raises the bar another notch! If you don't mind, I'd like to steal a bit of your console design for my own car. That would come in handy on some long rives. I use a small pillow between the sea on those long ones.
Great job,

Thank you very much guys. It is a great complement to receive kudos from guys like you who have built, are building, will be building some extraordinary machines!!!

This was/is a great journey for me. I really, really miss the build!!! (Maybe a coupe in the future? I hope, once the economy allows it.)

I just took my son (7 year old) for a cruise around local roads the other night. No top, heater on....
What a ride. He loved it, as he loves all rides in the roadster. He had a smile and I could hear happiness in his voice every time I asked him if he was doing OK.

After about 20 mins. of driving, to my surprise, he fell asleep!!! Thank goodness for the Street Performer high back seats and the Schroth harness. He was in tight.
I woke him up a couple of times, just for the company, but he just smiled and said I love this, and fell back asleep!!!!

After another 20 mins I parked the car in the garage, my son woke up and I asked him "How come you fell asleep?"
He replied "The exhaust noise and the wind relaxed me and I slept!"

I was smiling the whole night after this. What a joy for me and most importantly for my son...

Good times....and many more to come.

I am loving my roadster!!!!

Nice work Sam!

You really executed a thoughtfully crafted plan.

I love how the high back seats work with dual roll bar hoops. They really fit well together IMHO.

A couple questions about the 18" (rear) wheels. Do you get any rub at all with full tank of fuel and an adult passenger?

I have always really liked that style of wheel, but never had the nerve to try it in an 18" diameter. What is the offset or backspacing on the 10" wheels?

Thanks and congratulations,

Sean

Hi Sean,
thanks for the complements!!!

This is my setup:
I have 10" wide with 7.1" backspacing and 295/35/18.
Fronts are 9" with 5.95 backspacing and tires are 265/35/18.
I have no rubbing at all in the rear. Even when full and other passanger in the car.
There is plenty of room for up and down movement.

Hope this helps!
