Trying to figure this out. Hope you see a pic of me picking up the 33 and then a pic of where I am to date.

Hi BG, Great job on your anniversary. Looking good. This Fall it will be 10 years for my '33, #007.

Thanks Tom

I checked out a couple pics of your car and it looks great. Very impressive to be #7 also

Is the bump out reveal on the fenders a big issue to do, they look great.

Bob
I just taped off a parallelogram matching the back edge of the side panel and saber sawed them out. Then I just glassed them back in at an angle leaving the back edge open. I considered making more of the louvers but one was enough to vent heat and keep the footwell cooler.

It gives me ~16 sq in of venting on each side with one vent.

Jamie at Total Auto Body in Grafton, WI did the finish work and painting. They painted the entire car for me in 2009. I think I made the vents in 2012.

Refinishing was the bigger issue since the panel was already painted. But the paint matched perfectly. It took driving the car with and without the side panels on to realize that the foot well stayed cooler with some venting.

I played around with the idea of having more than one:

(Jamie at Total Auto Body, Grafton, WI holding the panel)

Best regards, Tom
Bgardner thanked this.

In re-reading your message, I see you said Fenders not side panels......
OOOOPS

The fenders I bought out of California. I'd have to look back to see who made them. They matched the lines of the car very nicely and have held up remarkably well through about 12K miles so far.

I don't know if they're still available, but might be.

Tom
Bgardner thanked this.

I believe Lane K (?) originally built/sold those fenders, then sold the molds to McQueen, who lists the kit here
