I enjoy using a site called Storyjumpr to make simplistic yet high quality books. I've done a great deal of genealogy for my grandkids but added a book on the Hot Rod. I kind of like the way it has come out.

I am thinking about a career change. My first job was to deliver a car to a gas station in Harlan Kentucky on Friday nights and then pick it up on Sunday. I was 12 years old. Did that job 2 years before going to work in a filling station. After 53 years of working, I am thinking that I would like to retire. Problem is, what does one do when one retires? So I have been wrestling with that and it came to my mind the other day that I could go back to delivering white whiskey to interested customers. I am thinking of retiring and becoming a whiskey runner. Gotta work out some padding, maybe some refrigeration for the trunk compartment.

Good idea!! It will be fast enough to evade the police, right?

But don't you need a horn that plays "dixie-land" to be able to do that?

So after studying how I will carry things in my hidden trunk I came up with the idea that I could use Kaisen Foam and pretty much design different scenarios ranging from tools to mason jars. I think it is going to turn out really nice. Also used heat barrier on the floorboard.

Bill-

That is very cool! Thoughtful of the son-in-law to step up and do something like this for you. I would love to see some pictures of it when he has it all done.

I like the finishing details you have been adding over thew last several months. I think it really makes the difference between very nice and stunning. I admire the vision, effort, and craftsmanship!

Regards,

Steve

Getting down to the final buffing. We ran the car at idle with no air flowing for Nearly an hour today, with the hood closed. Temps never got over the fan cutoff switch setting for long. Was a relief to see the success there. Probably get the car inspected sometime this week.

Going to try Covering. Pulled the trigger on one of their satin stretch indoor covers. I ordered British Racing Green. I thought the Tan looked good too.

Buying a car cover Bill? Let us know how it fits, and where you got it.

I bought one and it's way too big. I'm still looking.

Coverking provided the covers for the FFR cars at SEMA. They specifically had the one that produced the x-ray view of the 33 Hot Rod Roadster, They were one of the few sites that offered the Factory Five 33 Roadster as a modified option of the 33 Ford Model Car. My needs are for indoor mostly so I purchased their satin stretch. I did like the ability to choose a color. I chose the British Racing Green. I wish they had offered the ability to do embroidery but I have a guy around here that can do that. They do send swatches of the material in the sample colors. I would have gotten an indoor and outdoor one but the color choices were limited until you got to the very highest end. They have one cover that is essentially a moving quilt. I really liked it but I felt the lighter weight satin Stretch would offer a better and tighter fit. I can imagine the cover moving around and vibrating could conceivably damage paint. I think this one will be great, if it does fit well. Here are the swatches they sent. I chose the British Racing Green in the Middle.

So I learned today that CoverKing will not complete the cover until the 27th which is when they expect to ship it. Ordered it on the 9th so the turnaround is about 18-19 days plus shipping. Since they were apparently just starting to work on it after a week I asked if I could get some embroidery and the response was no, I should have selected the option on their site. I have been back and looked several times but cannot find such an option. I guess I am getting nervous about these guys. I think the embroidery is no big deal, the guy that did my upholstery can do a world class job and I already know the quality of his work. I will post up when it gets here but looks like that is going to be a while.

Received my CoverKing Cover today. They have been great to work with. The cover is high quality. I miss measured the mirrors so I am going to have to get a local upholstery shop to put new mirror cups on. All in all am happy with the cover.

Right at $450. These guys are great to work with though and they are helping me work through what I want to do to correct the mirror problem.
