Amazingly, it seems the last and simplest step, sealing the door windows has been the most challenging. The thinness of the material in the top of the door led us to reinforce it only to discover the strips of window wipes would not fit the reinforced edges. We looked around and while there are a lot of good solutions out there we just did not have the necessary materials or understanding to implement or copy someone else so we just fabricated our own as best we could. The solution, our solution, involves two pieces of angle iron on each side of the slot, glued into place with the felt strips glued to them in a fashion that supports and guides the window. Simple enough but a bitch to execute. Here are some early stages, gluing the angle iron to the door.

Great build, love the interior and the green paint!
Please include lots of pictures and details of how you do the side window seals, thanks!

I am pretty stoked on the way the side windows came out. Once we reinforced the door tops we could not use the FFR furnished whisker strips. The guys fabricated the strips out of angle iron and aftermarket universal whisker strips. Basically an angle on each side with the strips bonded to the vertical run on the angle while the angle attaches to the top of the door bottom with the horizontal side.

One thing we discovered, well a couple of things. We had to put a stop on the window mechanisms lest they push too far upwards. Also, there is a gap between our whiskers and the edge/bottom of the hardtop. We will figure something out.

Fun little video of the process of cutting the window slots, reinforcing the door top and trying different solutions over time to the window seals for the doors.

Touching up the final areas and buffing them out. Also working on the grill. We've decided to go ahead and finish hooking up the HVAC so that should take a little more time.

I worked on both #76 & #77 ! those and yours are very early cars with many challenges as those cars were just out of the beta stage as FF skipped some numbers in the 1st hundred as I remember. Geoff would know.

Your assistance, articles, posts, and many hours on the phone explaining most of those issues and pitfalls were no small factor in the success. I guess one blessing was the molds were fresh and the car sat with the glass seasoning for a long time.

Thank you.

So have been working on the HVAC, mocking up the compressor and alternator relocations as well as relocating the overflow and locating and positioning the dryer. Today they mostly finished the hard line installation. We did not initially get the FFR kit, Started with a bargain on an Old Air Under Dash unit and sort of built it out form there.

Interesting thing on the wiper, Kory wanted to avoid wire connections from the removable top to the lower interior body area so he used connectors that match up when the top is installed and provide power to the wiper unit which was essentially a unit from Speedway. There are some better ones out there that are not as large and imposing. I cannot recall the brand just do a search on Hot Rod Wiper Kits. The kit was permanently mounted to the top. There are some great kits that have dual wipers that mount from under the dash. Ours just entailed drilling a hole and running the wiring to the connectors.

Hey Bill, how did you snake the wiring down from the wipers to the body, getting ready to do the same but with two wipers (required by local authority). Appreciate the insight.

I don't seem to have a picture of the roof connection, here is how we connected the power windows in the doors to the interior of the car.

You must be getting very anxious to be able to drive away finally!!!
So to mount the wiper kit they had to drill a hole through the top of the cab. The motor had wires coming out of it so they drilled a hole in the inner layer of the roof so they could snug the motor to the roof with the wires inside between the inner and outer layers. They then ran the lines to the driver side window top of the roof between the layers, across the top of the window inside the roof and then down to the connector that is mounted just to the rear of the window opening. That contact rests against another contact on the lower body that is connected to the power source. This way I can remove the roof without unfastening wires.

Finished up plumbing the engine bay portion of the HVAC tying the compressor together with the dryer and bulkheads. Also tied in the heater hoses. Need to finish the interior runs from the bulkhead to the AC/Heater Unit.

Radiator passed the test, the cap was bad though. I hit the shroud with some polish to see if that would help.

We are also trying to see if a stainless steel liner will work on the inside of the side panel covers to help visually with the engine compartment.
