I did mock it up real quick. It will definitely need to be shortened, not sure yet if it will need to be narrowed. That will probably be my next video, nose cone, side covers, hood, etc... My chassis is #967.

I will be watching this closely as well as I am at that point as well, in our dry fit you can see the nose cone will need to e trimmed and there is a notch on the sides that give you approximately the right spot. My observation so far is that the notch for the arms hit the notches in the fiberglass cowl, I hope that I wont need to trim that back.

I think that would give the best chance of fitting a low mount compressor. No promises though! haha.

If you're up for making your own brackets check this out this email I got from Donnie:

What's up.. Here's the pics I promised.. These are the brackets that I made out of some flat steel.. Cut it with a sawsall and grinder and lined up the pulleys with a cheap craftsman laser level and tacked in place then finished welded.. I pretty much copied the Alan Grove top pivot bracket first and then made the lowers which have a only a little adjustment for the belt(Dayco 5040350).. It's tight but I think it'll work fine.. Some other guys on the forum have done similar stuff.. Any questions, let me know.. And thanks again for your videos.. They've helped me out as I'm moving at a much slower pace than you on my build.. Been two years this month.. Cheers.. Donnie

Thanks Donnie!

Welp, just got my dirty dingo brackets and compressor in. Looks like a no go, no matter the spacing position (CTS, Camaro, Vette). The upper bracket hits the control arm mount. Can't even get the bracket on. Did your solution work with the belt spacing? If so, got any drawings of what brackets you fabbed up?

Damn! you got the dirty dingo for the small compressor? I used a vintage air bracket (same as Alan Groove) with the Fbody Spacing. I had to cut the frame to make it fit:

Did not end up using the bracket I made in the video

Love following your videos and your meticulous attention to detail.

So I'm looking forward to seeing your car in paint and you enjoying it on the road.

Good luck, Paul.

PC1200 Battery?

I originally was planing to relocate the battery to the trunk but have changed my mind and am think I may want to use an Odyssey battery in the recommended location. Does anyone know if you can install an Odyessey PC1200 behind the rear firewall/ above drive shaft from the bottom of the car seeing as I already riveted my access panel shut...

You will need to look at the height, my PC925 has about an inch clearance (and the 1200 is about 1.80" higher, you may need to set it on its side) above it so I will be adding remote terminals in the trunk in case I forget to turn off something and kill it. I have a 5L Coyote engine and the 925 cranks it with very little effort. You can sort of see it in the attached pic.

Building Issues

I totally agree with Tim's comments. I am new at this, and admit I learn something daily. Before I bought my Kit, I was overseas for months, and spend hours in the evenings and weekends reading all the Forums, Manuals, and Videos. The nice thing about the FFR Kit, is you can configure the car to YOUR desires. We all have budgets and different experience levels. What I did, was try to take ALL this information, think about it, check my budget, and go from there. I have to give a LOT of thanks to Tim Whittaker and Dan Ruth for their assistance in my choices and questions. I am extremely happy with the quality of the parts I received from both of them. However, when you start modifying your car with all the Vendor Options, your WILL have issues. To me, that is all part of the enjoyment of the built. I only have 2 issues with Tim and Dan. Tim is an Aviation Specialist, and very focused on detail and quality (good thing). My only problem with Dan, is he keeps telling me "I told you that before", and "Read the Instructions!". I tell him I am 70 years old, and have an excuse.
THANKS GUYS!

They are 18" diameter 10" wide on all four corners. 18" is the minimum size to clear these 14" rotors.
