Glad to see you back on it Geoff. Ya know, there's something to said for the slow build. I've built and rebuilt mine probably 5 times in the last ten years to get it to where I wanted it and probably spent twice as much time and money as it should have taken.

BTW I went the Holley HP route with the digital dash during this last overhaul (2yrs) and it fired right up. It yard runs and drives, haven't had it on the road yet. Truly plug and play though with the 4.6 DOHC harness.

I was hoping you had the CAD. I have a full machine shop, and have full CAD capabilities, I just don't have the 'points-in-space' and dims for the coil covers. If I had those I could cut my own covers. Most producers don't want to give out CAD files so I thought I'd ask you first, but if you don't have the CAD I'll try asking Justin.

Awesome to hear. I'm still shocked from seeing the 33 Roadster selling for $35K. The thing couldn't be built for that price???? I have enough parts to build another MS3X but I wanted something more robust for the 33. I'll be able to use it on a project down the road. I believe the only part I need to buy is a TPS for my stacks. After completing my inventory, I think the brakes I have deserve a try before I throw money at upgrading them.

The slave cylinder for my clutch is not the best solution, I'll have to see if Forte has something better for the TR3650. I'm not in the mood to pull it apart to install a hyd throwout.

Sorry, I don't have them. Justin is your only hope. Good Luck, too bad I didn't put a few sets away for later use.

I've been thinking about this comment. When stuff started happening, I decided to just take the hit and sell the project. Thanks to my immediate family and a couple of friends from this site, I just packed it away. One of those friends from here passed away last week. When I go back and read his PMs, he must have had a crystal ball.

We're going to break ground on a new house hopefully before the year ends. I would love to drive my 33 into my new shop. It will probably be in kart mode but that's better than moving a dust collector!

Almost settled in. Body came off at home and then went right back in storage. Garage is a mess but will be usable in a few days, hurricane permitting!

I bet my stored crap has been reduced by 3-4 thousand pounds over the long weekend.

Sorting thru a stack of new parts and ordering the last few items this weekend. I'm glad there was an growing account to purchase these things. Over a week I added $6000 to the spending on the car! Haha, I don't save $6000/week so it might be time to slow up some.

I've been pleased with the vendors used and so far they have provided exactly what they claimed, shipped on time, and most followed up after the sale.

The go-kart milestone is now just months away. It's been way too long a wait!!!

Too much going on today to get by the tire shop. I'm putting the 28x12 on the 15x10 wheels and the new 15x8s will get the 26x10s.

Plenty of other stuff to work with next week.

I just finished off the LAST MS3X ECU I plan to build for anyone else until MY car is running!

I'm not sure I ever posted the sticker that came with the QuadSpark boxes that will fire my COPs on my hot rod. Pretty funny but probably not true.

I've been on a good run with parts vendors until recently. The problem needs to be resolved next week or I'll just have to get a refund and go with plan B. Ordered something a month ago and within two days I had to make a trip out of town unexpectedly. Because nobody was going to be at the house the week I expected the item to roll in, I asked them to ship at the end of the week. It has not arrived as of today and no tracking info has been sent.

I've communicated with them roughly 4 times and never get a prompt reply. So far I have an "I'll check on it", "you were bumped back in the production sequence", "I'll check with the production guys", and finally "I'll get you a status." Nothing from them for the last week so I'm taking a day off tomorrow to do some other business and they will be the second call I make in the morning.

Seems like a nice bunch but I have paid them in full to include shipping and have nothing to show for it. Wish me luck. If things don't go well I will certainly provide full details to make consumers aware. I'm hoping it's all a misunderstanding.

Great day yesterday working on the car with my son and grandson!

STILL not happy with the one vendor. I would have pulled the plug and moved on already but I kinda want to use their stuff. This could be nothing or I might be screwed out of $1600. They have a new and creative excuse every time I seek a status. It's beyond getting old but I don't want to get crappy parts because I feel the need to speak my peace.

It did force me to check out other options and actually ... there are some new items on the market that are excellent and less than half the price.

Geoff,
I understand why you don't want to mention the vendor's name until you get the issue resolved. However, can you at least say what kind of parts aren't being delivered? I'm curious because I have some parts on order from a long established FFR accessory vendor that are over a year overdue (and I paid in full in advance - a little too trusting). I'm just wondering if there is a pattern of behavior here that needs to be exposed.
Thanks,
Keith

I'm happy to report my issues were a production problem that I now understand completely. My parts will ship when they pass testing later today. Or ... my problem is huge because that was all a lie. I think it's all fine but tracking numbers will make me feel better about it.

Because my car was shipped to VCP and Wayne did all the coordination with FFR, it was only recently that I had reason to call Factory Five. I had a technical issue and needed to order a few parts. They are awesome. Questions answered and parts shipped in record time.

Glad to hear that your issues are on the way to being solved. I'm also glad to hear that we are having problems with different vendors. It seems that we are both being impacted by random shortages caused by our vendors' suppliers. It's always tough when you have to rely on someone else to deliver before you can start working on something.

I understand it completely if it was a supply chain issue. It would have been better if I had been kept in the loop on the status rather than insisting on a status.

Also, I'm not so confident that I have a resolution because I still don't have the "promised" tracking number for my shipment. Until I have my parts in hand, I will retain a healthy level of skepticism. The moment a vendor fails to communicate issues to me, I'm concerned.

Wow, not as resolved as I thought! I did some deep research and learned a bunch. First, the vendor seems reliable and the product is high quality. There were some complaints about system complexity and that the system might be overkill for certain applications. As a result, some kit car companies have developed simple options to replace the infinitybox, while still offering it as an option. Tech support seems responsive and VERY knowledgeable.

When I ordered my 20 circuit 33HR kit, I assumed it would be shipped immediately like the rest of my components. If I had researched thoroughly, I would have discovered that the lead time needed is much longer than I expected. There was not a promised delivery date and I have been kept advised of the progress. I have specific reasons for using the system, so I will wait patiently for it. We will concentrate on other areas of the car.

While researching infinitybox and the alternatives, I found some promising offerings. None had the capabilities of infinitybox but most were 1/3 the price. I found and have purchased a standard infinitybox 20 circuit kit that was unused. It will come in handy for a friends pending project.

I know several of you were concerned when I posted some apprehension about a vendor I didn't name. This should close the loop on this topic and put your mind at ease while alerting you to plan on ordering well in advance of your need for this product.
