Thumbs up USS Iowa
I recently enjoyed reading about the battleship USS Iowa, its significance in WWII history, and the pending arrival to its new home in Los Angeles Harbor. If there was ever a reason to have a car event/cruise in, the permanent positioning of this incredible piece of history has to be very high on the list.

My understanding the ship will arrive in early June with completion of the exhibits the middle of summer. Care to post your comments on organizing an event around the Iowa?

For the last 10 years the USS Iowa was part of the Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet stationed near my town (Benicia).

It became a habit for me to look over in the direction of the fleet to try to see the USS Iowa as I crossed the bridge. It is a shame that we could have done something with it as a tourist attraction. But our loss is your gain.

USS Iowa.
Love World War II stuff. Count me in. Picture below is the USS Connole, Named after my Great Uncle. Submarine Captain lost in the Sea of Japan during world war II.
