Looking for roadster to ride in - IRS vs 3 link vs 5 link

I'm in Santa Barbara, CA and am looking to get a ride in a finished car. Top issue right now is deciding between IRS, 3, and 5 link setups. I was sold on the IRS until talking to FFR and Levy Racing.

Call me crazy, but I have a tough time building a "fast" car in 2011 with a solid axle. Would really appreciate some brief passenger time with someone who knows the cars and can provide perspective. My purpose is 80% street car, 20% open track car.

I will be in the SF area over Thanksgiving 2011.

Thanks,
Chris

I understand your concern. As a 67 year old Cobra novice in the market, I got to ride in a half dozen.
Two were rough riders, really felt thrashed around. And was told by an FFR builder in our town that
independent rear suspension is the only way to get a decent street ride. But not true.
Its a combination of equipment choices, settings, motor weight, tires, seat design, etc.

The Cobra I recently purchased from an active FFCars member is a 3-link.
Handles towards perfection and rides quite comfortably.
Can take you for a spin around Pebble Beach most anytime, weather permitting.

PM (personal message) me with your name and phone # if you like.

PS: the oil spots on the cardboard are not the Cobra's.
I had just switch parking spots when the photo was taken.

3 Link with panhard bar..

If you get a chance to be up near Santa Cruz, you're more than welcome to look me up and come for a ride in mine..my three link setup with a panhard bar runs smooth, tight and comfortable.
Also, talk to SJDave before you give Levy Racing ANY money..
John
