Anyone know of a good plater in the area. Preferrabley Santa Clara but if they're really good, I'll consider anywhere else in the bay area.
So far I found 2:
Valley Plating in Santa Clara
Superior Chrome in San Jose

Herman,
I was price shocked at a quote I got from a plating shop here in Hayward that I went out of state to get some stuff done. Kerr West Plating in AZ is who I used and their price was much easier on the wallet, even with shipping.
I've used Superior. They did a great job and were pretty fast. Not necessarily cheap, though but I guess you get what you pay for and from what they told me the part needed a lot of prep work - it did turn out really well and I would use them again.
I'd call Ron... He had the best prices around for ceramic coating and polishing... He does great work. Not sure if he does chrome but I am sure he can refer you to someone who does if not. My sidepipes came out great.

I used the shop Ween is talking about in Richmond. It's very good. It's pretty close to the Richmond side of the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge. Had my side pipes done there. (Thanks Big Iron)

Both roll bars are to be chromed. I did find another place in Santa Clara, Valley Plating, so between them and Superior, and outside the valley, the Belmont shop and the place up in Richomnd, I'm covered in the SF Bay Area.
Don't forget the H-B cruise in next month. I just registered on the FFR site.

While "chrome wheels" were popular in the late 50's and 60's, they are not "old school" looking on a roadster. However, they are super-easy to maintain, look really sharp with any paint, and compliment chrome roll bar and chrome sidepipes.
Serpent Expresss is an agent for a company that specializes in just chrome plating wheels.
