Picture sizing question?

I took pictures of my donor parts to put on ebay with a 10 mp camera. Auctiva will not allow me to upload and resize the images to their site for ebay upload.

How can I get the picture size down so they are usable? I have limitied experience with pictures and limited software to manipulate my pictures. Any help would be appreciated.

A decent size for a pic to be displayed on a web page is 800 x 600 or even 640 x 480. If you go bigger then that, it sometimes makes the page hard to read

What operating system is your computer running? Microsoft has a free image resizer for XP on this page

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/D...powertoys.mspx

or there are a number of other programs available - didn't something come with your camera?

If you google Irfanview, it is a good resizing program that I've used.

another good utility that I use a lot is batchthumbs you can resize lots of images at once easily.

I know you said you have limited experience with picture manipulation, but if you are technical in nature (which I will assume you are as a member of this site) give GIMP a go. You can get it here: http://www.gimp.org/

It is an open source image editor similar to Adobe's Photoshop, typically distributed with Linux distributions, there is a Windows version available too.

It will re-size your images and much, much more.
