New to the FF World but glad I have Arrived

Greeting everyone,

I'm Frankie and new to the FF world but have always have a long fascination with the Cobra. It's my dream car and always has been....and now I own one.

From my last comment, you probably can figure out I bought mine turn key, Hope that not too big of a sin on this site. It's not that to couldn't, I build choppers and bobbers from old motorcycles as a hobby. So I have the tools and a good sense of general automotive knowledge...just would rather spend the time enjoying the drive then losing the time to build one.

I bought mine from Gateway Classic Cars in Louisville KY and it was build but a Ford Dealership in Memphis Indiana. honestly that why I bought it, Build by Ford Mechanics with all new Ford Parts and a Ford Racing Crate 302. They used it for showroom promotions and town parades and such. Car is built very well and I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

Anyway that me in a nut shell. I'm up in the Northern Virginia Area, if there is any one else up this way, hit me back.

Welcome and congrats! As another wrote, no sin in buying vs building, the end result is the same.

Hi Frankie, there are several of us in the area. At least 5 in the build process. I've been building mine since for about 2 1/2 months. Many others on the road.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the outreach. As I'm still waiting for the title and paperwork to come back from Richmond, I'm consistently adding my little touches to "Ruby". (My wife named her). I ordered door panels from Herb Fraser. Designed and cut out my own Spats and been polishing up all the chrome and aluminum under the hood. Figure out if I can't legally drive her yet might as well show her some love. But did sneak her to Ocean City MD for Crusin Week last month and The Ford Nationals in Carlisle PA last week. ?

Thanks again everyone.

UPDATE:

Richmond Virginia DMV finally got me my paperwork back after a Loooooong 3 week wait. After a 3 hours wait and the local DMV Saturday morning I got my Antique Tags, installed them and drove the snot out of her all day. Then did a Father's Day Car Show in Warrenton VA on Sunday. Turned out to be a great weekend.

Hope you all had a fun weekend and a Great Father's Day..... if it applies to you. LOL
