Height and fit in Challenge car

Helo everyone,

This is the first time on this forum and need some help. I have been to several HPDE events and considering to moving into wheel to wheel. I am 6'5" and 245 lbs and concerned about fitting into a Challenge car. I have a spare fox body to use parts from to build the car but will I fit? Any advice would be great.

Thanks,

RM

It's actually hard to say since everyone's dimensions are different. I can say my 36" inseam fits just fine with room to spare and plenty of space under the top of the cage.

I would say the best bet is to try one on. Where are you located? Maybe you can make it to one of the racing events and sit in a couple.

Thanks for the info. I am about 30 min from Mid Ohio as I live in Worthington Ohio. I was actually thinking the same thing but didn't want to go to a event and ask if I could sit in a car.

The real problem you are going to have is not sitting in a challenge but rather sitting in a challenge car that has a seat big enough for you. most of the guys are not your size so sitting in their car will not do anything for you. that being said I'm 6'4 and 265lbs and can get in mine just fine. I did make some mods to make it better as I have a son that is 6'5 and long legs. Mine fits all.
bottom line, yes you will fit but you might have to make some mods to be very comfortable.
Steering wheel position , larger foot box, seat on the floor, etc. all very easy to do so get off this forum and get the car!!!!

Contact Mark Daughtry here on the forum, he can get you fitted. I spent the weekend with him at VIR. He is a whealth of information! I went from cramped to very comfortable. I am 6'6" and 240. He can get you where you need to be! And help you maintain your car.
