Thanks Trent. Let's make a plan to take these bad boys out and scare the neighbours! I'm sure Chuck know the way. Congrats again on finishing yours.

Now that is a beast! I like the padded protection on the frame. Amazing how many little tips one can pick up from this forum - thanks!

Thanks to everyone. Hopefully I will have a mpeg file of the start by end of September. Chuck, it turned out to be something as simple as re-drilling and sanding the adapter plate and re-tapping the bellhousing to accept the coarse threads of the tranny bolts. Still have to trim the clutch fork to clear the foot box - man is she a tight squeeze!

Nice Randy. Yes, that looked like my garage a few weeks ago. I have been go carting with her the past few weeks and it's a rush. Southern Auto really does a great job with the plug and play arrangements. It is surprising that you still get a lot of room to work around the engine once it's in. Good luck and let's hear some audio once you start her.

Steve-thanks for the encouragement. Did it start right up? If you have any audio of it running could you pass it along-sounds like you are in heaven! I have three things I have to still figure out now that it's in. Clutch Fork-I have to trim to fit the extended FF Metal Footbox; Driver side Header-looks like and impossible fit to the footbox-again this is an extended version; Passenger side Scattersheild/Bellhousiing-within a fraction of an inch against A-Frame. Did you have similar fit issues?

Randy

Noticed the hydraulic clutch, where did you get the mount for the hydraulic cylinder, it looks chrome!

Thanks,
Mick

Sorry to steal the thread but where did you get the bracket for the CNC MC's?

Beautiful engine. That thing is gonna rock the neighbors!

Mick-if you are referring to the "slave" then it came from Southern Auto. with my engine. It's just alum. I think.
Dave-I fabricated the bracket with some mild steel and a mig welder.
I'm sure my neighbours don't think it should be legal...

Randy, my engine fired as soon as the fuel entered the carb. (about 30-40 seconds of cranking total) I went with the Wilwood clutch cylinder setup from Southern. Tight fit on the firewall with the brake MC but the clutch works great once it's bled. I have the stock foot box also. My neighbor and I took all of 10 minutes to install the engine and trans and I used Mike Forte's trans. mounting block for the TKO600. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease to install and the fit with the standard FFR MK3 setup. So far no problems. My neighbor has digital video of my first go-cart past his house. I plan to post it as soon as I get a copy. Yes, it rocks the neighborhood but I had forewarned the neighbors in advance and they have been just great and supportive.

Steve-figured out all the clearance issues and now I starting to wire and plumb-hope to get it running in the next couple of weeks.
