I thought that I should also post a link to my FFR here which has a S400/S80 turbo running Accel DFI and E-85 gas. Which made 817hp and 793 torque on 16 lbs boost and very safe tune done by Andy at Dynotune USA.

I can't wait until E85 makes it to the North East. Until then Cam 2 is the only option.

79pacecar. Do you have any more detailed pics of the turbo setup? Are you using log style header, shorty, custom?

At nearly 800ftlbs of torque how do you think the 600ftlb "rated" TKO600 will hold up?

Have you had any problems already?

Mystang, I'm using trickflow highport heads and using headers built by trickflow for these heads, these are a midlength header and then going into 2 1/2" exhaust tubing into a merge with newgen wastegate. For a turbo I'm using a S400/S80 turbo. For exhaust I'm using 5" and a mangnaflow bullet muffler.

Benji, My trans was built by promotion using TKO500 internals and then all clerances checked and adjusted to there specs alone with several other mods that they do. I'm using a twin disc clutch. This setup help up fine put it's not the best for a car with this much hp, so I had a 4R70W built using a lentech manual valve body and going to be using triple disc lockup torque converter.
Later..

79pacecar, are you still running the same block? I don't blame you for switching to an auto, my lentech aod is going in next week.

I'm having a dart iron eagle block built using billet calis crank and billet oliver rods, along with all of the good parts. My goal is to increase boost and have 1000+ rwhp.

Yeah it was last seen orbiting the Moon! I have ridden in a 500 RWHP SP Cobra...One scary ride. When standing on it in 2nd and 3rd all I could do to keep it straight.

This E85 conversion is really starting to make sense.
My f-150 is e85 (flexfuel) compatible. Hmm if there were only more E85 stations in SOCAL.

Why would anyone want to run the lower powered E85 which drops your performance and mileage by almost 25% (why did you think the price was so cheep to begin with) Am I missing some thing here and can you imagine what the numbers would have been on high octane gas.

Don.

The octane rating of E85 is significantly higher than pump gas so for a forced induction application you can run a lot more boost and / or timing the result being stupid amounts of HP.

I agree than for normally aspirated motors it really doesn't make much sense but for blown cars it does.

Now that makes sense, I sure hope that the E-85 prices don't creep up as people get comfortable using it.

Don, I think the octane rating of E-85 is in the 105 range. Quite a bit cheaper than unleaded race gas.

I finally got it running about 3 weeks ago. It is alot fast then before and easier to drive with the 4R70W transmission. I was going to dyno it on saturday at car craft summer nations but it was booked all day on saturday and I need to do more tunig before I turn the boost up and try for 1000 hp dyno run. I'm also going to go drag race it, with in the next month hopefully. I'll post some pics in a few days. Also the reason the you run E85 gas is because you can make alot more hp on it compared with other pump gas. There was a camaro at car craft that dyno 1300+ hp.

79pacecar, glad to hear you have it up and running. Are you going to have a cage? If not, I'll be surprised if they let you have more than one pass at the track. At least that was my experience. Please have someone video you, a lot of us will be looking forward to seeing it run. It's great to hear about another turbo ffr. I answer a lot of pm's about people planning on building a turbo car, but almost none end up following thru with it. Keep us updated. Cheers.

79pacecar

I saw your car at CC last weekend, you were parked next to the fence bordering Snelling, correct?

Nice car, and that turbo is massive.

There were a few high power cars there on the dyno, too bad you couldnt get on.

Get the corn out of the Tank & back on the Table ! - hehe.

79pacecar - I think its awesome that you guys can get those numbers ! - I still think the future autos will be on the turbo 3/4 cyl platform, very efficient - low weight, powerful, good mpg, maybe you need to show the BIG 3 how its done !

Thomas, I had a cage built last winter that bolts in, it uses a standard ffr driverside rollbar and I had a halo with down bars welded on it along with a bar going from the ffr rollbar to the passenger side downbar and have a swing out bar on the driverside. I also had additional bars welded into the halo and also supporting the halo. I'll post a picture the next time I have it mounted in.

79pacecar, could you possibly send me a pic of that in and out of the car. I would absolutely love to have something like that made up for my car. Thanks in advance.

Pacecar,

I also would like to see how you did the downbar. I have the same cage setup minus the downbar. Would love to see the swingout. Did you have to sculpt the door?
