Buffing Compound\Polish?

This question actually pertains to a jetski, but I figured Id ask here since its the same material. The paint used was lesnol base\clear. I just got done wetsanding (2000 grit) fresh clearcoat. The wetsanding took out most of the shine from when the clearcoat was unsanded. I tried this 3m "rubbing compound" with a ryobi buffer and it did nothing. Im wondering if I should try to buff everything back to shine with some sort of compound or polish or just re-clearcoat and start from there again. As you can see in the picture its nice and glossy directly from clearing with a little orange peel.

use G3 at 1500 rpm will bring back the shine. don't over do it.
