Collinite's No. 845

Has anyone ever tried this Collinite product? I have a sample that was given to me to try and I wanted to get some feedback from someone who's tried it in the past.

Thanks

Rich

Good stuff. As durable as it gets with waxes. Trick is to apply it as thin as possible otherwise it will be a bear to remove. Most avid detailers use this as their go-to winter wax.

It is my wax of choice

I've used Collinite for years. A little trick was taught to me year's ago was to apply the wax with a little Imperial Hand Glaze.

Great stuff...I've been using it for the past 3 years...

Used mostly Zaino before that...but Collinite lasts even longer, is a lot cheaper and avoids the multiple steps...

Best place I've found to buy it is Ebay...although supposedly boat supply stores might carry it...

try No. 915

I've been a lurker on this site for a while, but this post made me register. I grew up in Utica, NY (home of Collinite) and knew a couple of the guys that worked in factory. Collinite is a very small company, probably 10-15 people. Aside from getting what I have always felt is the best product avaliable, it's great to support a small local buisness.

I have used the insulator on daily driver type vehicles for years. (Per the guys in the factory), the insulator wax is the same wax as the super duty wax, but the insulator is a little easier to put on and take off since it's a liquid, but doesn't last quite as long. (any collinte wax will bead up for well over one year on a daily driver). I will say the insulator was will separate after a couple of years.

If you're really looking for a great wax, try the No. 915 (marque de Elegance)!!! The stuff is awesome!!! I beleive it's one of the best carnuba waxes on the market, but not many people know about it due to lack of advertising. I've got a muscle car and have converted many many muscle car friends who will only use this wax now. Super easy on and off and doesn't build up like other waxes will. In all honestly, I've probably picked up 25-30 tins of wax for car freinds over the last couple of years. It's so easy to put on and take off, I use this for my daily drivers now. it doesn't last quite as long as the other two waxes, but will still get me a years worth of shine in harsh WNY winters. As others have pointed out, apply it THIN and don't get too far ahead of yourself. Like anything in life, no free lunch I guess.

Another tidbit of info regarding collinte, you'll see many many different products. Some aimed at marine, auto and areonautical markets. it's all the same wax, just packaged differently for different markets. It seems like the marine guys really swear by this stuff also.

Give it a try, I don't think you'll won't be dissapointed.
