I'm running a solid axle 5 lug SN95 disc rear that has been narrowed 2.5" per side. Horizontal quads need to be relocated inboard at axle end and the bottom vertical shock mount needs to be relocated about 2" inboard on the FFR supplied lower CA bracket. New axles from Moser. I'm running stock 88 donor stuff in front and converted to 5 lug.
REAR:
--Wheels: 15x9.5 PS Engineering GT-40s (5-lugs) direct from PS Eng.
4.25" Backspace
--Tires: 275/50R15 BFGs
FRONT:
--Wheels: 15x7.5 PS Engineering GT-40 (5-lugs) direct from PS Eng.
4.38" Backspace
--Tires: 235/60R15 BFGs
ISSUES:
--The front calipers rubbed the inside face of the wheel when I first installed. They had to be shipped back to PS and have more material taken of the inside of the web to clear the calipers.
Torq Thrust D 15" by American Racing, 5-spoke photos of Bob Kay's car supplied by Andrew Porta. The Red w/black stripes car is mine. The wheels are 8.5" on front and 10" on the rear. The fronts went right on (89 spindles, FMS 5-lug rotors) the rear 8.8 was shortened 2.5" off each side, 9" axle bearings and retainers, '98 explorer 11" discs. Also the rear shocks were moved in a little to clear the calipers. The upper shock anchors were attached to the inside of the frame rails. Not too hard. The Cobra centers were a gift from my son. I think they are suppose to be used somewhere else, like maybe the shifter knob, but they just happen to be the same size as the hub caps on the American Racing Torq Thrust "D"s. Both wheels have 3.5 BS. Thanx for the interest. Bob Kay
I feel fortunate having two sets of PSE GT40 rims to mount two sets of tires. My Cobra is unique for the fact that I have a custom-made 28-gallon fuel tank installed for long distance cruising. Couple that together with a full trunk + one passenger and you’ve got some serious weight back there. Here are the tire sizes and easy mods needed to achieve as near a perfect ride as I could obtain... important to me = with no rubbing.

With the Goodrich T/A Radials I use 3/8-inch milled steel spacers on the rear to clear the rear disk calipers. No rubbing problems. The rear coils are set to maximum ride height... necessary for carrying a full 28-gallon fuel tank and passenger.

Three Quarter View of the Goodyear Eagle Slicks Front & Rear...
With the Goodyear Eagle Slicks I tried 1/4-inch spacers on the rear but found chaffing on the inside of the wheel well... not good. With 3/4-inch spacers there was slight outside chaffing of the tire under severe dip/bump conditions under speed... not good. I now use the same 3/8-inch milled steel spacers on the rear to clear the rear disc calipers on the MKVIII IRS. To date there are No rubbing problems.
The Backspacing on both sets of PSE GT40 15 x 9 inch rims is 4-3/8 inches.
The Backspacing on both sets of PSE GT40 15 x 10 inch rims is 5-7/8 inches.
I have Ford 11-inch solid rotors on the front and MKVIII 10-inch vented rotors on the rear. The front calipers had to be milled slightly to clear the rim.
Edited to reflect the new rear street tire size and spacer size changes. And after 2k+ miles with the new 295’s and correct size spacers = no rubbing! I am a happy man!
Brian,
I have the 15x10 Weld Prostars with 28x15 M/T ET drags. I don't remember the back space but they were standard wheels from Jegs so they are probably the same BS (6.5") you mentioned. I have a stock width 93 rear end with drum brakes. They fit perfectly in the body with no rubbing.
Take care,

Reason: added full size image
I clicked on all the images to go to tech thread, but none would work?
Is there something I'm missing here?
Not working here either; too bad, as those are really nice FFR's.
Likely what happened is that the original threads got archived and these links are rendered useless. They were to the grad threads on those cars. Maybe some nice person can help find them again. If we know where they are, the above links can easily be corrected.
Hey guys! I am looking to purchase some Deep Dish 15" Team III's from Richard Oben. I have seen some pics of the 17" and 16" version but cannot seem to find any of the 15" version. Anyone have them? I'd like to see a pic...

Thanks Richard! Just received my new 15" Deeeeeep Dish Team III wheels from Richard Oben! Whoohoo!
Beautiful wheels! I really like that dish on the rear. Will those fit without doing anything special. My build plan will envolve a 94-95 8.8 with factory rear discs, will they work on that set up?

The 94 and on 8.8 is wider than the 87-93. You will have to narrow the rear

Like Bill said, this is a narrow rear. Pin-drive width.

The deeep dish wheels have a shallower backspace (allowing for more dish). In other words, if you put these wheels on standard width axles, they would stick out of your fenders farther than they should.
