5 link and t-56

I am doing the homework on setups for the roadster and beleive i want to go with the LSx series motor. Couple questions

anyone running a TKO 600 with the LSx motors? if so what was required to make it work?

it seems if you run the t-56 you must run the IRS as well. I am wanting to run a solid axle with 3 or 5 link. I saw one guy running a solid with t-56 on here not sure what was involved in making it work though.

Thanks
Jason

Mobius: The major hurdle for any engine is drive shaft length. If you are going to run an Aluminim LSx then it would be no biggie to push the motor a few inches forward and still maintian a 50/50 balance. An Alum. LSx is far lighter than anything Ford makes. Most run the IRS because drive shaft articulation is not a problem and the car will handle/ride better.

The first thing that comes to mind is you will need to use a different bellhousing for TKO600 trans. I believe you can hitup Mike Forte, a vendor here, and see if he has something for you.

As far as the running a T56 with a live axle. 4th paragraph of the first post.. Myself and another are running that setup. However, like it's been said, if you want ride quality go the IRS route..

I'm running a tko600 with my ls3/480. I got a bellhousing and hydraulic throwout bearing from kiesler engineering. The bell is nice, I will recommend their products, but not their service. They sent the wrong hardware with my bellhousing and stripped out the threads in my new engine...I was not happy. But with the proper hardware, everything fits and is sitting in my MkIII chassis now with very little modification.

Cool thanks!

I would go IRS except I want a lot of power! I have an 03 Cobra currently with the IRS and about 700hp but, i am thinking I am going to be in the 1100hp + range and doubt the IRS will handle it. Although I will mostly be rolling the power on and not doing drag race style launches so it may...
